This is a redesign of a redesign for the packaging of U brand Catalina pens. The concept was to lean into the price point of the pens as well as the branding on the original package making it more classy while keeping it relatively easy to manufacture the boxes. I chose darker colors for the box to help the pens pop and prevent the packaging from looking dirty on the shelf and turned two of the pens sideways to show off the unique angular design of the pen caps. The pens come in sets of three and according to my prior research, the shells of the pens have been multiple different colors, not to mention that the ink in all of the pens is black and the gold accents are on all the pens so I decided to focus on those colors rather than complicate the packaging further.
